B2 Competition

Tinkers travelled from village to village, mending pots and pans for rural families. During the world economic crisis, many local artisans and shopkeepers protested against this competition from outside. Itinerant traders and craftsmen were increasingly excluded from fairs and markets. Roma and Sinti people were regularly arrested by the police and made to pay heavy fines - just for working!
